Rockin around the Christmas Tree

Worked on getting all the Christmas Decorations up yesterday. Chris braved the frigid temps to put everything on the house ~~ what a great dad. I have a feeling we might have gone sans-lights if we were sans-kids.

Walker "helped" me decorate the tree, and I thought I did pretty good setting aside my Mommy Dearest side. I like my tree to have a certain "look" that would make Martha Stewart proud. I agonize over each decoration, and move branches accordingly so they all hang perfectly. Walker got to put all the "bracelets" on the tree and the lower 24" are precariously adorned with clumps of blue strings.

It was an awesome experience to have him help me and I enjoyed every minute. AND THE TREE LOOKS GREAT.

He got distracted with the colored string of lights and spent the rest of the night dragging the string from one outlet to another, leaping up and down when he got them lit. He made everyone come in his room and see the colors.

There's nothing quite like the innocent pleasure of Christmas Lights, and it's multiplied by the enthusiasm of a 2 year old.

Dangerous Toys = Fun for the Whole Family

Remember that great Johnny Jumpup? The seat that dangled precariously from doorways on a spring? Hours of endless entertainment swinging and bouncing....until someone deemed it hazardously unsafe and it was replaced with a lame substitute that sits on the floor (taking up precious floor space).

Well I found one, and Taylor is contentedly bouncing his brains out, laughing so hard he can barely keep the drool in his mouth.

I'm making that our new motto around the house:

Laugh until you drool.

Think I can find that in vinyl?

Growing up at Lightning Speed.

Don't blink or they'll be grown.
They grow up so fast.
It seems like just yesterday...

Today I'm learning the hard way that clichés come around because they're true.

Today Taylor is EIGHT MONTHS OLD. Are you kidding me? It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with him. He's sitting in his high chair this morning, soggy toast in each hand, shaking his head "no" and laughing hysterically at his brother. I would freeze this moment in time if I could. I'm sure I'll want to pull it out again when he's thirteen, shaved his head in a mowhawk and they're wrestling on the floor, breaking my china.

For today: Cutest thing I've ever seen.

T minus 14 days....

Figured I'd better add a blog about the new guy. We're down to two weeks, and I'm pretty excited to meet him. We're still holding out for Texas Ranger to complete our Chuck Norris matched set. Maybe when we meet him we'll decide on something different... :)

I'm still feeling pretty good (but huge).

I took Walker to the nursery at the hospital and we talked about picking up his new baby there. He was pretty excited. Today he told my belly to "Hurry UP!"

Santa is not cool...

Christmas this year was a blast because Walker understood the concept a little better. He did not, however, want to hang out with Santa at all.

So he spent Christmas Eve waiting for the reindeer...in the hopes they were a little less scary than the man in the red suit.

He ended up being okay with the presents Santa left for him, and enjoyed his new train table to the fullest.

Trick or treat...

We went to Aunt Jill's for Halloween. Walker made it through the circle to about 4 houses and decided that was enough for him. He was a trooper and kept his costume on the whole time (and even during dinner after). Chris dubbed him "Walkerious Maximus" for the evening.

The Pumpkin Patch

Walker got to pick out his own pumpkin this year. We picked a mommy pumpkin, a daddy pumpkin and a baby pumpkin. The tractors were the highlight of the trip though....

So far the weather's stayed nice enough that they're not rotting on the porch. Hopefully Chris will let us carve them up and make a mess this year....
